Have you heard of Nicodemus?

A man of the Pharisees

Religious leader

Respected teacher

Came to Jesus at night

Showed his lack of insight

 

Rabbi we know you are from God

You do miracles by the power of God

Said Nicodemus the pharisee

Very sad, he couldn’t see

 

Jesus, the Son of Man,

Knows not what is (what’s) in a man

So did He tell him the truth

 

A man must be born again

To enter the kingdom of Heaven (God)

Said Jesus the Teacher

To Nicodemus the teacher

 

So surprised was he!

Oh how can this (it) be!

Nicodemus was he, a pharisee

 

Jesus answered

For God so loved the world

 

So changed was Nicodemus

By the words of Jesus

 

That visit left on him a mark

So visible was it, lo and hark,

His own colleagues he reminds

The law and Jesus he defends

Thought that I could be with you

Negatives never crossed my view

Even now, trying to fill cheer

‘m suppressing many a tear

 

May I tell you, my prayers go with you,

That you may be always kept anew

With your vision crystal clear

And you conquering fall and fear 

 

Death’s dust is enveloping

It is slowly suffocating

The world is still changing

The (His) commission stays unchanging

 

              Go to the world

              Preach the word

              New the old

              Disciple the world

 

Sin and satan rule the earth

The wages of sin is death

Only Jesus saves from wrath

Help the world know this truth

 

We are sent into the world

Like Jesus the Living Word

He is with us be bold

Change the changing world

 

Be filled with the Spirit’s might

Reflect Jesus the Light

To serve is your only right

Fight soldier the good fight

 

As I am sent in to the world

So send I you to the old

Break sin and satan’s hold

Lo, I’m with you be bold

 

O You redeemed, proclaim,

Sight to the blind, walk to the lame,

From death to life, now to redeem,

Christ, the Liberator, has come

 

Unchanging commission

To change the changing world

Jesus the Christ paid the remission

To cancel sin’s hold

(for man, into His image, mould)

 

(The world needs compassion

It lost purity for passion)

The world’s filled with passion

Shame is its potion

Needs a lot of compassion

For it knows not the solution

 

Jesus

He is my friend

He is my trend

To Him I always tend

My prayers I gladly send

Oh joy, how I enjoy

The life He blessed me with

Oh peace, the Spirit’s release

 

In all the bustle and noise

Hear behind you the voice

Gently speaks with you the Shepherd

Disobedience you can never afford

The Lord your God is Holy Holy Holy

Chose you to be a vessel of His glory

Only life up to the revealed light

Let Jesus, through you, shine bright

With perseverance, run the race,

With no waver in your pace

God be with you

Joy and sorrow – rife

But in all peacefully fife

Jesus gives you real life
